This year Second of Bachillerato students were able to participate in Saint Louis Day. Our task was to prepare a play about Saint Louis’ life and act it out to First year of Primary students. Each class had to do it in a different language among the three that are taught at school (Spanish, French and English). Our class had to prepare it in English, which was a bit of a challenge for us since these kids had just started three months ago to study it. We tried to do it as simple as possible so that they could understand what was taking place on scene. We dressed up as Saint Louis, Blanca of Castilla (his mother), Daisy of Provence (his wife) and there was even an oak, where our patron saint made justice and helped the poor. We involved ourselves in the play as much as possible and even though they seemed not to get the whole of it, they were able to follow who had died and who had married whom. We enjoyed a lot preparing as well as performing it, and so did our spectators (we hope!). It was a great experience in which both the youngest and the oldest had fun. For us, it was a throw back to those days when we were the spectators and we looked up to the older ones with bright eyes full of excitement and admiration.
